Job Description:

Jefferson County Management Information Systems department strives to provide the highest quality technology-based services, in the most cost-effective manner in order to facilitate services to the employees of Jefferson County. The department analyzes County system needs and follows through with designing, testing, implementing, and improving systems using Information Technologies resources.

The Information Technology department is currently hiring a Programmer Analyst to analyze system and application requirements in order to code programs, and to train users in programs based on those requirements.

As a knowledgeable, and detail oriented individual, you will be successful in this role by completing the below key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintains responsibility for various County software applications. Monitors, improves, updates, and repairs.
  • Analyzes County system needs. Designs, develops, tests, implements, and improves systems using information technologies resources.
  • Troubleshoots application errors and user needs; provides solutions or coordinates solutions with other departments
  • Writes clear documentation of solutions to system needs; writes clear documentation on programs.
  • Variety of other tasks provided on the posted job description

Starting Wage: $26.59/hour
Hours: 40 hours/week; typically, Monday – Friday with occasional night/weekend on-call

Qualifications:

Qualifications Needed:

  • Associate degree and two years’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with HTML, web design, JavaScript, PHP, relational data bases training such as SQL
  • Valid Driver’s License
