Job Description:

The Human Services Administrative Services team is currently hiring an Accounting/Payroll Specialist II to perform accounting and payroll tasks for the department. As an organized and efficient individual, you will be successful in this role by completing the below key tasks and responsibilities, with a high attention detail:

  • Complete and ensure accuracy of payroll tasks for Human Services staff and maintains benefit balances, in compliance with federal and state regulations and within the scope of County policy. Communicate closely with staff and resolve timekeeping and accrual questions, needs and issues. 
  • Maintain staff listing to ensure FTE records are accurate. Report FTE information to the State, as required.
  • Record and receipt all incoming cash, checks, and electronic transfers, assigns account numbers, prepare deposit reports and enter into accounting system and Accounts Receivable subsidiaries.
  • Interpret, edit and process daily activity records for billing, case openings, case closings, case transfers and monthly state reports.
  • Download and update the Department of Health Services Program Participation System (PPS) reports for Mental Health (MH) and AODA services. Enter Consumer status and other data into County system for State PPS reporting.  Input voluntary and involuntary MH commitments, Detox commitments into the state PPS reporting system.
  • Enter daily logs for contracted physician into County system. Assist with entering logs for other contractors throughout the department, such as Community Recovery Services, Comprehensive Variety of other tasks needed and provided on the post job description.

Starting wage: $20.60/hour; 40 Hours/week

Qualifications:

Qualifications Needed:

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with one-year experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
