Job Description:

Jefferson County’s Human Services Department has a Behavioral Health division that serves Jefferson County residents with mental health and substance use concerns through an outpatient clinic setting. The clinic staff is committed to delivering evidence based practices by providing person centered and recovery focused services.

The clinic is in need of a School Psychotherapist to join the team that will provide Mental Health services and consultation services for youth and staff within Jefferson County School Districts.

As an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate Psychotherapist, you will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Performs crisis risk assessments / suicide risk assessments and response plans, evaluates youth’s safety to self and others through clinical interview and facilitates short-term voluntary or involuntary hospital admissions and coordination of services as appropriate.
  • Completes a safety plan with individuals who are assessed for suicide risk and diverted from hospitalization
  • Completes crisis plans for individuals who may be at risk of contact with crisis
  • Provides immediate evaluation and mental health care, including individual and group psychotherapy, to youth
  • Provides consultation, psychoeducation, and resources for families and school staff of youth
  • Provides assistance and direct instruction to implement DBT Steps A in the school districts
  • Several other tasks as needed and provided on the posted job description.

Starting wage: $28.25 - $31.47/hour ($58,760 - $65,457 annually); based on qualifications/experience upon hire; 40 Hours/week

Qualifications Needed:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field with two years’ experience
  • Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years’ experience
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy and/or cognitive behavioral therapy Training or Certification
  • Bilingual qualified applicants encouraged to apply
