Jefferson County’s Highway Department works diligently to keep our roads safe by upgrading, repairing, and maintaining 390 lane-miles of State Highways (100 lane-miles are located on Interstate Highway 94), 521 lane-miles of County Trunk Highways, and various Town Highways as requested. These responsibilities include reconstructing and resurfacing county and town highways, remove snow and prevent ice accumulation, install signs, maintain and repair department equipment, perform welding tasks for equipment, issue permits to install driveways on County Trunk Highways, provide emergency assistance, and support other county departments in completion of special projects.
The Highway Department is seeking an individual to perform equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic testing along with skilled maintenance and repair work on County vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment, and other equipment. To be successful in this position, you will be focusing on the below responsibilities:
Starting wage: $27.93/hour; 40 hours/week
