Jefferson County is looking for a compassionate, experienced School Psychotherapist to join the team!

 

Jefferson County’s Human Services Department has a Behavioral Health division that serves Jefferson County residents with mental health and substance use concerns through an outpatient clinic setting. The clinic staff is committed to delivering evidence-based practices by providing person centered and recovery focused services.  The clinic is in need of a School Psychotherapist to join the team that will provide Mental Health services and consultation services for youth and staff within Jefferson County School Districts via clinic branch locations.

As an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate Psychotherapist, you will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • Performs crisis risk assessments / suicide risk assessments and response plans, evaluates youth’s safety to self and others through clinical interview, develops safety plans, develops crisis plans and facilitates short-term voluntary or involuntary hospital admissions.
  • Provides comprehensive assessments, completes treatment plans and provides individual and group psychotherapy to youth in schools and in clinic.
  • Provides consultation, psychoeducation, and resources for families, school staff and identified youth
  • Provides in classroom instruction on DBT Steps A in various school districts, works in partnership with school staff to teach Steps A and provides staff instruction including day to day instruction as well as professional development
  • Collects and analyzes DBT Steps A data
  • Several other tasks as needed and provided on the posted job description.

 

Starting wage: $31.18- $40.05/hour; based on qualifications/experience upon hire; 40 Hours/week

Qualifications:

Qualifications Needed:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field with two years’ experience
  • Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker or in training certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience working with youth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years’ experience
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy and/or cognitive behavioral therapy training or certification
  • Bilingual qualified applicants encouraged to apply
  • Experience working in schools
