Job Description:

Jefferson County Health Department seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide a variety of nursing services at the Jefferson County Jail Facility.

The RN would assess inmates through interviews, observations, and examinations, establish care plans, report to Jail MD for treatment orders, set up medication per Jail MD, and perform other tasks necessary.

The LPN will perform a variety of clerical tasks, maintain electronic records, assist Registered Nurse with assigned tasks, participate in ongoing training, department meetings, in-services, and seminars, schedule and assist inmates with daily sick call, documenting observation, and perform other tasks necessary.

Typical Schedule: 16 hours per pay period; every other weekend

Starting Wage: RN = $23.82/hour; LPN = $21.97/hour

Qualifications:

RN Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree from a college or university with one year experience and State of WI Registered Nurse License, required. Knowledge of electronic charting and basic computer skills, required.

LPN Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required with completion of the Licensed Practical Nurse program, one year experience and State of WI Licensed Practical Nurse, required.
